Basic t-shirt + embellished skirt = winning duo

You all probably know that basic t-shirts are one the most versatile wardrobe pieces that exist. A woman should have at least 2 or 3 ideal basic t-shirts in her wardrobe. That’s the minimum… Up from here it’s up to you and your credit card!! ;-)

When you buy t-shirts you have to take into account the following advice:

Composition: If  you chose cotton try to pick the ones that wear some Lycra as they will fit better and last longer without pulling out of shape.

Collar shape
-Crew neck (round): The most common of all. It slightly shortens the neck but soften sharp faces.
-V-neck: It is very flattering because it makes the neck look slender.
-Turtleneck: Only suitable for very long necks (think Audrey Hepburn)
-Boat neck:  It widens the shoulders. To be avoid by women with very wide shoulders (think Charlene Wittstock)

Sleeves
 - If your arms are thick avoid shoulder straps. Better opt for short, long or ¾ sleeves.
 - Puffy sleeves are ideal if your shoulders are not wide as it adds volume.

For today’s post I've paired a basic t-shirt with an embellished skirt. And I really love the result. What do you think?

Fashion tip: If your skin tone is really pale (like mine) but you want to try nude tones, add some colour with your accessories and make-up.
