Today I show you a look with what I consider the most flattering and feminine piece ever: the pencil skirt. (BTW you already saw the sweatshirt here in a more sporty look)

What do you think ladies?
Happy Thursday and enjoy your Easter holidays!!

New fashion crush: Bohemique S/S 13

I usually tend to talk/like/wear the most known brands, but there are SOOOO many others worth to discover, like the one I'm introducing you today.

I discovered this fashion label thanks to Kizzy from the beautiful blog The Dainty Dolls House (thank you darling!) and I admit that I instantly fell head over heels with it.

Bohemique is a russian label praised by what I like to call the "Russian army" (with Elena Perminova, Ulyana Sergeenko, Miroslava Duma and Natalia Vodianova at the helm). The designs of this mysterious duo (I haven’t been able to find more information about them on the net) present a clear inspiration in the old Hollywood glamour era and exude a certain “fetish” style with its cinched waists, lace, enhanced hips and lots of black.

I LOVE the perfect shapes of the dresses and the sophisticated details such as the crystal embroideries, the transparent veils and tall hats with wide brim. Feminine and extremely classy Bohemique creations make many women dream about wearing their designs (and so do I from now!!)

Which one is your favourite design, ladies?

Iconic film: Casablanca (1942)

I can't believe I still haven't talked you about "Casablanca", one the greatest love stories in cinema.

Directed in 1942 by Michael Curtiz and starred by Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid, this romantic drama tells the story of Rick Blaine (Bogart), an American expatriate who is the proprietor of the most famous gambling nightclub in Casablanca during WWII: "Rick's Café Américain". One night his ex-lover Ilsa Lund (Bergman), who left him in Paris without any explanation, pays him a visit to ask for some "letters of transit" that would allow her and her husband Victor Laszlo (Henreid), a leader of the Czech resistance, escape to the USA. This situation creates a conflict on Rick who must choose between his love for Ilsa or his duty by helping both to escape to continue his fight against the Nazis.

The film contains some of the best quotations of the cinema history such as "Play it again, Sam" (when Ilsa asks the pianist to play their song "As time goes by"), "We'll always have Paris" (when they say goodbye at the airport) or "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" (the last sentence of the film).

The amazing chemistry betwen the main stars, an unforgettable soundtrack (created by Max Steiner) and an Academy winning award for best screenplay, make this film a classic masterpiece (from 8 Academy nominations it won 3!!).

If you haven't see it, you must ladies !!
Happy beginning of the week!!

¿Qué opción os gusta más?
¡Feliz miércoles chic@s!

I already shown you this skirt in the first post of the year (here), but I like it so much that I'm repeating with a total black look so the skirt is the "main star"...

A certain 70's flair

These pants are the bottom part of a Zara suit that I bought a million years ago (I paid in "pesetas" before the euro did exist!!). They're quite wide and very 70's style but as that trend is quite "à la mode" right now I'm wearing them again.

For the look I chose my favourite vest (here, herehere and here), a cross body bag and a beret to achieve that 70's flair...

What do you think ladies?
Do you like that style?

Iconic film: Singing in the rain (1952)

Singing in the Rain is one of those films that puts you in a good mood… a very good mood…

Directed in 1952 by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen and starred by Kelly himself, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O’Connor and Jean Hagen, it tells the story of a cinema company which has to turn a silent film into a talkie. The film is starred by Don Lockwood (Kelly) who has became famous thanks to his effort, sacrifice and the help of his dearest friend Cosmo Brown (Donald O’Connor). But it turns out that the feminine star Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) has a terrible voice and for that reason she must be dubbed. The chosen actress is Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds) who has a marvellous voice. Of course, Don ends up falling in love with her…

The film counts with unforgettable musical numbers such as “Singing in the rain”, where Kelly dances and sings under a heavy rain.

The wardrobe was in charge of Walter Plunkett (Gonewith the wind, Seven brides for Seven brothers) and its delicious due to its colours and designs recreating the crazy 20’s.

Did you know that?

- The rain of the famous scene was mixed with milk so that the cameras of that time could catch it better?
- Debbie Reynolds ended up with her feet bleeding after the performance of “Good morning” and exhausted due to the intense training Kelly submitted her to?
- Donald O’Connor had to be hospitalized after his intense performance in the number “Make ‘em laugh”?
- The seduction dance between Kelly and Cyd Charisse was cut a bit ‘cause it was considered highly erotic for that time?

A great classic that you can’t miss!!
Happy beginnig of the week!!
