Emporio Armani event

¡Bueno días chicas! Tal y como os dije el viernes el sábado me invitaron a un evento en la nueva tienda de Emporio Armani en Paseo de Gracia (Barcelona) . El motivo era ver en directo el desfile de la nueva colección de O/I 2012-2013 que se presentó en Milán.

Para seros sincera la conexión no fue de muy buena calidad. Si a eso le añadimos el hecho de que me encontré con buenas amigas a las que hacía tiempo que no veía… ¡El resultado fue que no vi el desfile!  Jajajaja… (¡Menudo desastre de blogger que soy!)

Eso sí, fue una ocasión ideal para conocer la tienda y poder ver de cerca la espectacular colección de P/V 2012: tonos empolvados entre los que destacan el rosa palo y el gris perla, pinceladas de color con prendas y accesorios de color mandarina, el eterno binomio blanco y negro, los corte limpios y sin estridencias, pantalones fluidos, tops de seda… son las características más destacadas de esta femenina colección en la que se aprecia claramente el toque del maestro Armani.

En resumen una mañana muy agradable en una excelente compañía.

Good morning ladies! As I told you last Friday, on Saturday morning I was invited to an event that was held in the new Emporio Armani store in Barcelona. The reason was the broadcast of the Armani’s catwalk that presented the new A/W 2012-2013 in the Milan Fashion Week.

To be honest the connection  wasn’t very good. In addition I found there some good friends that I haven't seen for a  while… The truth is that I finally didn’t see the show! LOL… (I’m such a bad blogger!!)

However it was the perfect occasion to see the S/S 12 collection first hand: soft hues with pale rose and grey pearl  as main stars, splash of color with accessories and pieces in tangerine, the eternal B/W combination, clean cuts, floatty pants, silk tops… are some of the features that stand out from this collection where the touch of the Maestro Armani is clearly visible.   

In short, a nice morning in the best company.

Fashion Circuit 2.0: My personal experience

Cuando el pasado jueves os anuncié que iba a asistir al Fashion Circuit 2.0, confieso que estaba emocionada. Por la información recibida y lo que había leído en su muro de Facebook, el evento prometía… Pero os aseguro que el resultado no pudo ser más decepcionante.

Es cierto que la noche no acompañó porque llovía a cántaros pero eso no es disculpa para lo que vendría después. Llegamos puntuales y nos hicieron esperar más de una hora en una sala (que se quedó grande para la gente que había), con la música tan alta que casi no se podía hablar, sin nadie que nos informase de cuando iba a empezar el evento y sin ofrecernos ni siquiera algo de beber para atenuar la espera.

El desfile empezó pasadas las 22:00, sin presentador ni nadie que informara de lo que íbamos a ver (tan sólo un voz en off que daba la bienvenida al show y punto). Consistió en cuatro modelos que mostraron unos peinados de fantasía y cuatro looks (¡cuatro!) del supuesto diseñador emergente, del que por cierto nadie tuvo la deferencia de presentar ni decir su nombre. (Para las asistentes ¿alguien sabe quién era?).

A las 23:00 los asistentes salimos desperados para  comer y beber algo. Y a pesar de que la calidad del catering era muy buena, la cantidad y la variedad fueron algo escasas.

Lo mejor de la noche fue conocer en persona a las encantadoras Sarah (Poppy Jota), Dafne (Bcn Coolhunter) y Eli (Vístete que vienen curvas). ¡Un placer chicas!. Y también reencontrarme con conocidas compañeras de networking.  ¡Ah y la cantante Nika Mills, que estuvo excepcional!

En líneas generales diría que el primer evento fue decepcionante, con fallos de organización y poca atención a los detalles. Pero si los organizadores toman nota de las críticas constructivas y mejoran la calidad del evento, la iniciativa puede llegar a convertirse en una plataforma de promoción muy interesante para jóvenes diseñadores.

When I told you last Thursday that I will assist to the Fashion Circuit 2.0 event I was really excited. After reading the info posted in its Facebook profile and listening to other bloggers talking about it, the event sounded promising… But it couldn’t have been more deceiving…

Yes it’s true that the night was not ideal (it was raining cats and dogs) but this is not an excuse of what it was about to come. We arrive on time and had to wait for more than one hour in a room that was too big for the people that were there, with the music so loud that is was difficult to listen, without anybody telling us when the show was supposed to begin and without offering us something to drink to make the wait more bearable.

The show began past 10 pm, without a speaker that presented what we were about to see (only a voice in off that welcome us to the event). The catwalk consisted in four models wearing fantasy hair styles and four looks (four!) from the supposed promising designer that none had the courtesy to introduce. (To the attendants, anybody know his name?)

At 11:00 pm everybody rushed to the catering area has we all were starving. And although the catering quality was excellent, the quantity and the variety wasn’t so good. 

The best part of the night was to finally met the sweet Sarah (Poppy Jota), Dafne (Bcn Coolhunter) and Eli (Vistete que vienen curvas). A pleasure ladies! And also to met old networking partners. Oh, and the singer Nika Mills who performed exceptionally!

Generally speaking I would say that the event was deceiving, with organisational mistakes and a lack of attention to details. But if the organisers take note of the constructive critics and work hard to improve the event, it could become a very interesting platform for the promotion of young talented designers.
