Bizarre

El nombre del post es debido a que la combinación de colores que resulta en la foto es muy extraña y difiere totalmente de la realidad (¡¡os aseguro que los guantes, medias y zapatos con todos del mismo tono!!). Pero qué demonios... ¡viva el color!

Por cierto mi sincero y cariñoso agradecimiento a mi ex-compañera Ana que me regaló estos maravillosos zapatos para mi despedida de la empresa. ¡Ana eres un cielo y te echo mucho de menos...!

The title of he post is because the color combo that you see in the picture is a bit strange and totally different from the reality (I promised you the gloves, tights and shoes have the same color!!) But what the hell... long live to color!!

BTW, my most sincere and warm thanks to my ex-colleague Ana who gave me these amazing pair of suede shoes as a goodbye present (before I left the company). Ana you're an angel and I miss you very much!!

Portobello blues

Una de las mejores cosas que se pueden (y deben) hacer en Londres es pasear por Portobello y perderse por sus calles. Eso si, si podéis evitar hacerlo en sábado cuando la marea de turistas lo invade todo ¡¡mejor!!

One of the best things you can do (and you must do in London) is wandering around Portobello and its beautiful streets. But be aware of not doing it on Saturday, as it's crowed with hundreds and hundreds of tourists...!!

London days 1 and 2: Rain and freezing cold!!!

¡Por fin el lunes por la tarde la lluvia nos dio una tregua y pudimos hacer fotos!

Si vale... en Londres sieeeempre llueve... Y claro hace frío porque es invierno... Pero a pesar de todo, tiene un encanto dificíl de igualar. En especial ahora que mi hermana vive en Portobello, una de las zonas más preciosas y especiales de la ciudad.

El domingo, abrigadas hasta las orejas y con una lluvia que no paraba, salimos a pasear un poco antes de ir a comer a The White Horse, un pub que descubrí gracias a Ana de Addict Smile. El sitio es una preciosidad e hicimos fotos solo de la zona donde comimos porque el pub estaba abarrotado de gente y no pudimos... :(

Salimos rodando de allí y no se nos ocurrió otra gran idea que ir a Primark a quemar los 2 millones de calorías que nos habíamos metido entre pecho y espalda. ¿Un domingo por la tarde en Primark? Si... una de las mejores ideas que tuvimos. Jajajajajajaja... ¡¡Y vaya si compramos!!

El lunes nos despertamos con algo de nieve, que acacabó transformándose en una lluvia que duró hasta la tarde. Y entonces aprovechamos para salir por Portobello y hacer estas fotos...

A pesar del frío helador y la lluvia... ¡estoy feliz de estar aquí!

On Monday afternoon it finally stopped raining... thanks God!!

Ok, London is the city of rain... It's aaaaalways raining... And it's freezing 'cause it's winter... But despite that it has a very special charm. Especially now that my sister is living in Portobello, one of the most beautiful and charming city boroughs.

On Sunday, wrapped up from head to toe, we had a walk before stopping for a typical British lunch at The White Horse, a pub I discovered thanks to Ana blogger at Addict Smile. The place is beautiful and we took some pictures in the interior restaurant, not the pub 'cause it was crowded and we couldn't... :(

We ended up so full that we had the great idea of going to Primark to burn the 2 million calories we had consumed... A trip to Primark on a Sunday afternoon? That was the best idea ever... Hahahahahaha. And yes, we did buy!!

On Monday we woke up with a bit of snow, that ended up in a rain which stopped after lunch time. And it was then when we went out and took the pictures in Portobello...

Despite the freezing cold and rain... I'm happy of being here!!

My trip to London (I): Kensington Gardens and Notting Hill

Aterricé en el aeropuerto de Gatwick el jueves al mediodía y sobre las 13:30 ya estaba en el centro de Londres.(Por cierto si tenéis que viajar a Londres no os lo penséis dos veces: Easyjet es la opción ideal. ¡Puntualidad británica asegurada!)

Tras dejar las maletas y explorar los alrededores donde se alojaban mis padres (el Park International hotel en Cromwell Road es ideal) mi madre me arrastró literalmente a Oxford Street: Selfridge & Co., Topshop, Primark, Miss Selfrigde, Jane Norman, Dorthy Perkins, Accesorize,… Sin duda alguna Londres es un paraíso para los amantes de las compras, al que es casi imposible resistirse (¡también os prometo un mail con mis “regalitos”!)

I landed in Gatwick airport on Thursday noon at 13:30 I arrived to the city center noon (BTW if you’re planning to travel to London Easyjet is the best option. British punctuality guaranteed!!)

After leaving the luggage in my parents hotel (the super cute and new Park International hotel located in Cromwell Road) and exploring the surroundings, my mom dragged me to Oxford Street: Selfridge & Co., Topshop, Primark, Miss Selfrigde, Jane Norman, Dorthy Perkins, Accesorize,… Without any doubt London is a paradise for shopping lovers, practically impossible to resist (I also promise you a post with my “presents”!!)

Al día siguiente nos levantamos muy temprano… ¡para irnos de compras! (¡os prometo un post con mis “regalitos”!). Después de tres horas sin parar decidimos que ya era suficiente y nos dirigimos a Kensington Gardens para visitar el palacio de Kensington (de arquitectura impecable). Después le tocó el turno a Notting Hill y Portobello Road donde hay una tiendas vintage para morirse… ¡Cómo me gustó ese barrio!

Y si, como podéis comprobar en la fotos, hizo un tiempo horrible y un frío de mil demonios… BUF

¡Es lo peor Londres! ;-)

The next day we woke up early…to go shopping!! (I promise you a post with my “presents”!!). After 3 hours non-stop we decided it was enough and go towards Kensington Gardens to visit the Kensington Palace (with an impeccable architecture). After that, it was the turn for Notting Hill and Portobello Road where there are vintage shops to die for… How I liked this neighborhood!!

And yes, as you can see in all the pictures, the weather was terrible and it was damned cold…

That’s the worst thing about London! ;-)
