¡Buenos día chic@s! ¡Ya estoy de vuelta! Después de una semanita de obligada desconexión retomo de nuevo el blog. El motivo del cierre ha sido el hecho de que he tenido que preparar un curso de verano de historia de la moda que empieza hoy en el IED.

Tras mi masterclass en el IED que os conté aquí, colaboro de forma regular con su profesora de Historia de la Moda cosa que me enorgullece ¡pero que también me obliga a tener menos tiempo para el blog...! (Por cierto desde aquí quiero dar las gracias a Kizzy del blog The Dainty Dollshouse por su inestimable ayuda al enviarme información sobre La Belle Époque y el Art Nouveau. ¡¡Eres un sol, cielo!!)

 

Lo cierto es que tenía ganas de volver... ¡os he echado de menos! Para este primer post de la semana he escogido un look muy colorido con una falda midi (¡mi medida favorita como sabéis!).

PD: Cómo podéis comprobar lo del tema del cierre de Google Reader/GFC que ha tenido alterada a la blogosfera no es cierto - probablemente era un globo sonda lanzado por Bloglovin' para ganar seguidores -... ¡¡Al menos yo sigo teniendo todo mis seguidores en GFCy mi lista de blogs actualizada!! ¿Y vosotras?

Good morning ladies! I'm back!! After the forced week's break I keep up again with the blog. The reason fo the break it's been the fact that I've been preparing a fashion history summer course which starts today in the IED.    

After my masterclass in the IED -that I explained you here- I've became a regular Fashion History teacher's contributor which makes me feels very proud... However this allow me limited time for the blog...!! (BTW I would like to thank Kizzy from The Dainty Dollshouse blog for her invaluable help sending me useful information links about La Belle Époque and Art Nouveau periods.  You're lovely darling!!)  

To be honest I wanted to come back... I've missed you guys!! For this first post of the week I've chosen a very colorful look with a midi skirt (as you know my favourite lenght!!)

Una de las mejores cosas que tiene Barcelona en primavera son sus parques. Me chifla pasear y hacer fotos en ellos (¡en especial cuando voy con mis sobrinos!). Eso si se requiere un look cómodo y sencillo para correr y jugar en la hierba con ellos... ¡Jajajajaja!

¿A vosotras también os gustan los parques chicas?

PD: Compré estas sandalias haces unos días en un tienda de mi barrio ¡¡y aluciné cuando vi que son ideales para llevar con mi bolso de Bimba y Lola de hace un par de temporadas!!

One of the best things of Barcelona in spring are the parks. I love to walk and take pictures in them (particularly when I go with my nephews!). But of course, a comfy and simple look is required to run and play in the grass with them... Hahahahahaha!!

Jesus Peiro fashion show (Barcelona Bridal Week)

El pasado miércoles tuve el placer de poder asistir al desfile de Jesús Peiró para la Barcelona Bridal Week. La verdad es que asistir a un evento de este tipo es siempre un placer en especial si el diseñador celebra su 25 aniversario...

La colección 2014 (llamada "Costuras") presentó una novia muy elegante y clásica, inspirada en el savoir faire de los modistos de los años 50, cuando las colecciones se presentaban en desfiles exclusivos y privados a las clientas y la elaboración de los mismos se hacía de forma totalmente artesanal.

Tejidos como la gasa, el tul o la organza crean vestidos ligeros con toques románticos y siluetas suaves y fluidas que crean un moviento precioso al caminar. Por el contrario los tejidos más rígidos como el satin duchesse o el mikado tafeta conforman unos diseños algo más rígidos y voluminosos que esculpen la silueta con una elegancia muy depurada.  

Los toques de los lazos negros en toda la colección fueron el contrapunto perfecto y un guiño a la costura y al trabajo artesano que se realiza en su talleres.

¡Una colección exquisita y que enamora!

Last Wednesday I had the pleasure to attend the Jesús Peiró fashion show in Barcelona Bridal Week.  To be honest, is always a pleasure to attend these kind of events particularly when the designer is celebrating his 25th anniversary... 

The 2014 collection (entitled "Costuras" -literally "Seams") presented an elegant and classic bride inspired in the "savoir-faire" of the 50's designers, when the collections were presented in private and exclusive shows and the ellaboration was 100% handcrafted. 

Fabrics such as chiffon, tulle or organza create light dresses with romantic touches and soft silouhettes whose mouvement is beautiful when walking. On the contrary more rigid fabrics such as satin suchesse or mikado are used for more rigid and voluminous designs which sculpt the body with a very refined elegance.  

The black blows details are the perfect counterpoint and a nod towards the handcrafted work the brand realises in its Atelier.

An exquisite collection that will make you fall in love!!

The masterclass

Como algunas de vosotras ya sabéis, el martes estuve impartiendo una masterclass en IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) sobre asesoría de imagen personal. La experiencia fue extraordinaria y no tengo palabras para describir lo cómoda , satisfecha y orgullosa que me sentí al ver el buen resultado y las felicitaciones recibidas por parte de la profesora que me invitó ((¡¡y eso que la clase la dí en inglés!!). Tras años peleando por este sueño, las recompensas empiezan a llegar... ¡y cómo!

También quiero agradeceros a todas vosotras los ánimos y el apoyo que me habéis enviado a través de este blog y mi perfil de Facebook. ¡Chicas sois maravillosas!

Y por supuesto a Anna, la excelente profesora de Historia de la Moda que me ha ofrecido esta oportunidad. ¡Espero que este sea el inicio de muchas colaboraciones juntas!

Finalmente comentaros que el look que escogí fue clásico y formal (¡tenía que parecer una profe!) ¿Qué os parece?

As some of you already know last Tuesday I gave a masterclass about personal image consulting in IED (Istituto Europeo di Design). The experience was extraordinary. I can't find the words to describe how comfortable, satisfied and proud I felt when I saw the good reactions and hear the congratulations I received after the class (and I gave it in English!!). After years of fighting for this dream to come true, rewards are already here... and how!!

I also would like to thank you all for your support and nice words here in the blog and my Facebook profile. You're wonderful, ladies!!

And of course, my warmest thank you to Anna the Fashion History teacher who offered me this great opportunity. I hope this would be the start of many other collaborations!! 

Finally, the look I chose: a very classic, polished and professional outfit which I found perfect for the occasion (I had to look like a teacher!!). What do you think??

Lunch at La Capella

El pasado jueves tuve el placer de comer con mi amiga Alicia (del blog Cuida Tu Imagen) en un lugar precioso. Se trata de una antigua capilla reconvertida en restaurante (de ahí el nombre "La Capella", en español "La Capilla"). Tanto la comida como el entorno son una delicia y podéis imaginar lo que disfrutamos haciéndonos fotos la una a otra . (Eso si ¡¡el viento que hacía, fue el culpable de mis pelos de loca!!).

¡Así que si estáis por Barcelona no dudeis en acercaros (esta es su web) y probar su menú (SÓLO vegetariano)!

Last Thursday I had the chance to eat with my friend Alicia (from the blog Cuida Tu Imagen) in a beautiful place. It's an ancient chapel completely refurbished and transformed into a restaurant (that's what is called "La Capella", which literally means "The Chapel"). Both the menu and the surroundings are delicious and as you can imagine we did enjoy taking pictures each other!! (Except from the fact that the wind was blowing so hard that it made my hair a mess!!)

So if you're visiting Barcelona don't hesitate to pay a visit (here's the web) and try its vegy menu (ONLY)!
