Travel series :: Marrakesh (day 3)

Good morning beauties!
Today I’m publishing my last post about our Marrakesh trip… (If you’ve missed the last two click here and here)

Day 3 - Sunday
In my opinion this was the best day of all…

That morning we decided to “get lost” in the city and that was a great idea. Getting lost is a fantastic way to know and discover new places that otherwise will be difficult to find.(And  believe me when I said that Marrakesh is a 100% secure city to do that!)

We when out the Medina and went along the edge of the wall which allowed us to discover places like the Royal Palace, the Agdal Gardens or the Ibnozorh Hospital.

Jajajajajaja

But my favorite place was without hesitation La Mamounia hotel, one of the best luxury hotels of Marrakech. There’s a security guard in the main entrance but don’t be intimidated: just tell him that you’re going to grab a drink inside and he’ll let you in.

Everything in this hotel shows good taste, luxe and the real Moroccan hospitality. And the gardens, where the private villas are located, look like they were pulled off from A Thousand and One Nights tale. We were inside for more than half an hour, taking pictures and nobody told us anything. I enjoyed it so much! I can’t help it: I felt like I belonged there!! Hahahahahaha

After we get back to reality, we head over Djema El Fnaa place because it was now time to do some shopping at the souk. Believe me: this is an experience which deserves to be explained in another post!

After the exhausting souk and loaded down like pack mules, we went to Places des Épices  to grab something at the famous Café des Épices. After that we came back to the Riad as we had to pack our things and have a shower before our last night out at La Sultana.

La Sultana is a “mini-Mamounia” located in the middle fo the Medina just beside the Saadian Tombs. We had dinner at the terrace and had the moroccan style menu which in my opinion is another experience that you can’t miss. The pictures are a bit dark but I think you can however appreciate the beauty of the place.

To sum up and unforgettable trip to a city that’s worth the vist at least once in your life
See you soon Marrakesh!!
