Glamour is back (Cannes festival Part III)

Now that is over, do you fancy having a look to the best dressed of the festival? Which one is your favourite??

Liya Kebede in an electric blue dress - How says that short dresses don't work on the red carpet??

Love her accesories!!

Inès de la Fressange in Carven - The eternally black dress can be updated...with flat sandals!!

Uma Thurman in Armani Privée - She's got a body!!!!!!!

Jane Fonda in Emilio Pucci - OMG! I just wanna look like her when I am 74 years old!!!

Karolina Kurkova in a grecian style inspired dress

Diane Kruger in Calvin Kein - She teaches us one of the best fashion mantras: LESS IS MORE

Kirsten Dunst in Chloé - Ok. I confess she not my favourite stylish icon (sometimes I think she has not style at all). But in this edition she has been one of the bests! CHAPEAU!!

Kirsten in Rodarte...

...and in Chanel Haute Couture.

She's the living proof that white also works on pale skins like hers (as long as your makeup is impeccable!)

Iconic films: The Great Gatsby (1974)

Yesterday I watched for the first time Jack Clayton’s The Great Gatsby (1974) which is said to be the best film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s famous novel. Mia Farrow and Robert Redford starred as Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby in a tragic love story that reflects the decadent lifestyle of the American high society of the 20’s (just a few years before The Great Depression).

A real fashionista should never miss it, even if it is just to enjoy the magnifienct wardrobe designed by Theoni V. Alredge (who won the Oscar and the Bafta) and for the milky soft Douglas Slocombe’s close-ups (thanks to which we literally can see sparkles in Mia Farrow’s eyes and jewels). Their looks and costumes caused such a stir that their wardrobes were adapted for a clothing line sold exclusively by Bloomingdale's in Manhattan.

You must absolutely watch it, but I warn you that this is not a very suitable film for sensitive hearts!

Client meeting + Night dinner

Today is an important day to me. I’ve got a meeting with a client at the W hotel and then I’ve made an appointment... for a especial dinner… ;-)

As I won’t have time to go home and change I’ve already made my decision. I’ve chosen a pair of green emerald pants that I wear with two black tees, jacket and sandals. On my hand a big turquoise clutch that I think fits amazingly good with the green pants. In my eyes green emerald eye shadow and on my lips red blood lipstick.

This is my own vision of one of the summer trends that make me crazy: color block… What do you think?

I bought these studded sandals in flea market in the south of Spain last summer...and I just paid 10 € for them!!!

 Jacket: Zara
T-shirts (both): H&M
Pants: Mango S/S ‘11
Sandals: Flea Market
Bracelet: Bijou Brigitte
Clutch: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Fashion tip 1: A golden rule for make-up: if you enhance your eyes keep your lips soft and vice versa. Heavy make up for both is only allowed when you're disguised!!

Fashion tip 2: Showing too much cleavage in a date (for business or pleasure) can give a wrong idea of you. To insinuate is better than to show!!

Olivia Palermo for Marie Claire UK (June 2011)

Last Tuesday I talked about Olivia Palermo in my daily post and how I like the style of this “it girl”. One of the pictures I showed you was the cover of the June issue of Marie Claire UK. I couldn’t resist the temptation to rush into the library and buy it. I wanted to read the interview and see the amazing pictures!!

I think they’re really worth it… What do you think?

This is the cover for the subscriber's edition

I love the way she combines prints... They always look stylish on her!!

You can find similar bracelets in Uterqüe or Bimba y Lola

Flower power girl

Love the colour combination here. Black and white with touches of yellow work really well!!

This one is my favourite look

Fashion tip: Enhance your basic t-shirts with statement costume jewellery as Olivia does. If you wear your basic t-shit, with a print skirt and a statement necklace….you’ll shine for sure!!
