Ya es Navidad en Barcelona. Ayer, con el encendido de las luces y la celebración de la Shopping Night Barcelona arrancó la campaña navideña.
La verdad es que el año pasado no tuve la oportunidad de asistir a este evento pero gente que si estuvo me comentó que las previsiones de asistencia superaron con creces las de la edición anterior. Paseo de Gracia estaba abarrotado y en las tiendas que participaron había cola para entrar (Santa Eulalia, Tous, Swarovski…)
Es posible que mucha gente piense que este tipo de eventos los únicos que hacen es incitar más al consumismo exacerbado. Quizás. Personalmente pienso que (aunque sea por unas horas) estos eventos nos hacen soñar, evadirnos y olvidar la maldita crisis, los eurobonos y la angustia de los recortes salariales….¡¡que falta nos hace!!!

It’s already Christmas time in Barcelona. Yesterday, the overwhelming Christmas lights all over the city and the celebration of the Shopping Night Barcelona were a clear signal that Christmas campaign is already here!
To be honest I wasn’t able to attend to the 2010 edition but those who were there told me that this year attendees far exceeded last year participants. Paseo de Gracia was crowded and so were the shops. In many of them there was a queue to allow access (Santa Eulalia, Tous, Swarovski… )
I’m sure there are people who think that this kind of events are only useful to promote “exacerbate consumerism”. That’s probably true. But I personally think that this kind of events make us dream, be away with the fairies, escape from reality and forget about the dammed crisis, the Eurobonds or the wage cut… we need it so much!!!
